I’m a journalist and self-taught artist. As a newspaper editor in the United States for the past three decades, before which I was a reporter in India who wrote about primitive traditions, human rights abuses and political and social strife, I have come to see my role as a raconteur engaged in a debate and discovery — a discourse vital for the survival of civilization and humanity. My art adds a layer to my journalism, drawing on the same raw material — my perceptions of life, interpretation of facts and quest for self-expression.
